Some changes we choose. Others arrive before we feel ready.
We hold on, postpone, repeat what is familiar, even when something in us already knows that a chapter is ending or changing.
The Last Haka is an invitation to meet endings and transitions with presence, clarity and power.
Not as a defeat.
As a completion. And as a celebration!
Bring something you are ready to face, honour, transform or let go of. You do not need to know exactly what comes next.
What is Haka?
Haka is a Māori form of collective expression using movement, rhythm, voice, breath and facial expression.
It can carry many purposes, including challenge, welcome, celebration, pride, grief, strength, remembrance and unity.
In my workshops, Haka becomes an embodied way to explore presence, connection and power (personal and collective).
The Experience: Power with a purpose
In this three-hour Haka experience, we will use movement, voice, emotions and group connection to awaken your inner warrior and build energy around a clear intention.
You will:
– explore the theme of endings, transitions and letting go
– access your inner strength and power through body and voice
– learn about Haka’s meaning and cultural background
– learn and perform a powerful Haka
– bring a personal intention into the Haka
– experience the strength of moving and expressing together
Open to all genders and backgrounds. From age 14.
No previous experience needed.

I try to make this work as accessible as possible, while it’s part of how I make my living.

About my workshops
My workshops are intended as an introduction to this rich and beautiful tradition, and as a possible starting point for your own exploration of Māori culture.
I don’t teach “Haka” in general, nor do I represent Māori culture in any way. I only share what was passed on to me as a taonga (treasure), with care, respect and gratitude to those who have generously shared their knowledge with me, especially my teacher Matiu Te Huki, musician and cultural ambassador.
I also recognise that there is always more to learn, for me and for all of us.

Who am I?
